Seun Idowu – Lawyer and Photographer

An eclectic taste in music, a love for photography, the creative and fine arts , spirituality, technology and social/community development. These are some of the many ways that you can describe Seun Idowu. Fascinated by images and beauty in what people walk past everyday, Seun decided to purchase a camera in 2012 with the hope of preserving history by capturing beautiful images.

Beyond his love for the arts, Seun is also a Lawyer with a background in litigation and broad experience in information technology law, legal/ regulatory compliance and the financial /capital market. He is currently an Estate Planning Advisor and advises everyone he meets to please write their wills by all means.

When asked what it was like studying law, Seun says this was quite challenging as the mode of lecturing, amongst other things ensured that all ideas of an idyllic legal system and lecture ambiance, vanished. He found it hard to understand why he had to “cram “principles and cases as opposed to understanding the philosophy and analysis of whatever topic was being taught. He hopes to get called to the bar of another jurisdiction to cure this “damage”.

Being a Lawyer and Photographer has “cursed” Seun with a critical mind as he can work on minor edits on an image for hours on end. Also,  being a Lawyer means he is able to use his knowledge of intellectual property to his advantage, avoiding pitfalls and negotiating good contracts.

Seun believes that every lawyer is blessed with a curious and creative mind as well as a rare gift. This gift should  be discovered and carved into one sharp spear! .
